Onshore wind farm ‘Gebstedt’ is to be expanded by 14.4 MW with two additional wind turbines

  • Approval has been granted for two wind turbines, each with a rated
    output of 7.2 megawatts (MW)
  • Successful cooperation with the PNE Group continues

Back in December 2025, the PNE Group and EDF power solutions Deutschland commissioned the joint ‘Gebstedt’ wind farm project in Thuringia, with a total installed capacity of 16.8 megawatts (MW). The four wind turbines were then transferred by PNE and EDF power solutions to their respective in-house operations portfolio: two turbines are operated by PNE, the other two by EDF power solutions.

The approval now granted for two additional wind turbines constitutes an extension of the existing ‘Gebstedt’ wind farm. Each project partner has been granted approval for one turbine with a rated capacity of 7.2 MW. These are Vestas V162 turbines – which, at 7.2 MW, are almost twice as powerful as the turbines erected in 2025.

“We are delighted to continue our successful and trusting partnership with PNE. The four wind turbines commissioned at the end of December reached their maximum output immediately after being connected to the grid. Since then, they have been contributing to regional and climate-friendly energy generation – and thus, in very concrete terms, to the local energy transition,” says Antoine Cognard, CTO of EDF power solutions Deutschland GmbH.
